If you’re trying to rank your site in the search engines you can easily get overwhelmed with all the things you have to do to make it happen. In this article I want to show you the #1 thing you need to focus on to get your desired results faster then you though possible.

The thing you need to focus on is getting really good sites in your market to link to you. That is literally the only thing you need to do if you want to out rank everyone in your market. Yes, you have to make sure you have a site and some content – but aside from that – focus on getting the best sites in your market to give you links.

I have a site that holds a lot of top ten rankings in Google and I have not changed the content in over a year. Not only that, the site only has about 25 pages of content.

Also, the home page is a lead capture page that has about 100 words on it and asks for a name and email. So it is not the perfect site that everyone says you have to have in order to make Google happy.

Secret #2:

Google relies on all the other sites in your market to tell them where you should rank. Google does not go out and decide where your site should be ranked. They want to see that the other sites trust you & your content by putting your link on their site. The more that do that – the higher you will go and the more trust you will have from Google.
