The world of real estate is going through dramatic change and I don’t mean the current market upheavals caused by the change from a Seller’s market to a Buyer’s market.

Independent of price level there will always be buying and selling of homes going on. But the way people search for and find homes is in the middle of a dramatic change. The Internet is the great equalizer but also the great differentiator.

People searching online are not aware of your achievements, everybody is equal at first. If your website does not offer the design and services people appreciate they will not stay long enough to find out. This is where you can differentiate yourself.

But design and functionality are a secondary issue to the problem of how to get found in the first place. Use the analogy of websites being online business cards. New business cards are deposited not at the top of the pile but at the very bottom. Customers are picking up business cards from the top of the pile. SEO or search engine optimization deals with efforts to move ones business cards further up the pile so that customers can find one’s site through popular search engines.

So you have a new website. So you basically just had your business cards printed but nobody knows how to find them. Or even more dramatic you don’t even know if somebody is picking up your business cards and you don’t know if your business cards are in the big pile yet.

I would define SEO as the efforts to purposefully move ones website to be placed higher on the results page in response to a search query at a range of search engines.

But there are thousands of search engines out there. True. But all but 3 are irrelevant to your optimization efforts. Google, Yahoo and MSN control about 98% of all searches performed on the Internet. Focus on the three big search engines and the rest will take care of itself.

What is there to optimize? The aim is to be found by people searching for things that you offer on your website. When people search they do this textually by querying a search term or phrase. For you to optimize your site you first have to understand for which keywords or key phrases you want to be found. As I am practicing real estate in Aspen, Colorado and appropriate search term could be “Aspen Real Estate”.

Make sure you repeat your keywords and phrases on your homepage. Make the most important key phrase a headline and type it in a bold font.

It is important to understand that search engines are automated computer systems programmed by humans to evaluate the webs content without human interference. This means that search results are based on what is called a computer algorithm. This is basically a set of instructions for the computer on how to evaluate certain criteria and translate the results into a sequence of importance. Most important website first, least important website last.

The art and science of Search Engine Optimization is to try to understand what the search engines are looking for in a good site and then giving the search engine just that. The google search engine algorithm probably looks at hundreds of different criteria. It is so complex that not even the engineers inside google know the whole picture. Well you might say, how should none google employees then know what to do?

Basically the most important fundamentals of what makes a good websites are known. Google for example uses a patented mathematical concept they called “Page Rank” at the root of their systems. Links are seen as votes. The more links are pointing to one website the more important that website must be. The more important the website is that votes for another website the more weight that vote caries.

So, try to get people to link to your website. It is important to know that links from website that have the same topic as your website seem to be more important than links from website that do not fit the subject. Links from other real estate related website are more important to my website then links from websites promoting toys.

Search engines like content rich websites. The more pages with useful content the better. Blogs are a great way to accumulate great on-topic content over a period of time. This is all the more important as search engines like website that have fresh content on a regular basis.

DMOZ.org is a human compiled directory of websites. Read their instructions carefully and submit your website to a relevant category. Yahoo and Google use this directory and it helps to be listed.

Generate a site map and place the xml file on your web server. A site map is basically a long list containing all your web pages in a format that is readable by computer programs employed by search engines to browse the web. These programs are called “bots” or “spiders”. This will help the search engines to find all the pages on your website. Remember, the more web pages the search engine knows about the better for you.

Search engines cannot read certain content. Graphical content is one such thing. If your site consists of mainly pictures the search engine will not understand what your site is about and therefore will not offer it as a result of a search. Make sure your site is text rich.

Real Estate website can have pages for the different subdivisions in the area serviced. Write a blog on the property of the week. Incorporate a section of “Frequently Asked Questions”. Write about yourself and give people a bio on you. Explain the buying and selling process. Offer sales statistics. The list goes on.

Get a program Like “Advanced Web Ranking” to search the search engines for search results containing your keywords. Optimization is fun when you start to see results. But manually looking for your website in search results is labor intensive and a good job for an automated program.

Read web forums and a couple of books on SEO once you are past the basics. The field is constantly evolving and there us tons more to learn.
edible favors

If you are starting out in search engine optimization, there are a few terms and phrases you will need to understand. Here is a list of the most common words and phrases associated with SEO, and what they mean.

Search engine optimization (SEO) - SEO refers to a number of methods used to help your website achieve a high page ranking on search engine results pages.

Search engines - A search engine is a tool that allows users to search for topics on the internet using keywords. A search will return a list of pages relevant to the keywords entered. The most commonly used search engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Keywords and key phrases - Keywords and key phrases are words or groups of words that sum up the content of your site and focus searches on your site. There are different methods of using keywords within a site’s content to boost its popularity among search engines.

Keyword analysis - This is the process of choosing the keywords and key phrases for your website that will help you get the highest search engine page ranking possible. This usually takes some research but there are tools available online that will help you with the process.

Directory - A directory is a website consisting of links to various websites relating to particular or different topics. They are often use to help search engine optimize a website.

Inbound links - When it comes to SEO, inbound links are gold. An inbound link is a link to your website from other sites. As well as driving traffic directly to your website, inbound links will boost your page ranking on the search engines.

Reciprocal links - Reciprocal links are created when the owners of two websites mutually agree to link to each others sites. This is a double edged sword, however, as it may drive traffic away from your site, as well as attracting visitors.

Natural links - These are the best kinds of links. They occur when other websites link to your website without asking anything in return, normally because they like your website or the product that you offer.

Spider - A spider is the software used by search engines that indexes your website’s content for inclusion in their databases. Make sure your website is registered with the search engines. A site map will also help a spider do its work.

META tags - These are essential for good SEO. META tags are included at the top of HTML pages and usually include keywords and a description of the website. Well researched keywords will help boost the website’s search engine popularity.

These are just some of the more common words and phrases you will come across as you set out on your SEO adventure. However, you will come across many more as you gain knowledge and experience.
About the Author:

Google Promote, Remove and Comment Feature; Is it a death-knell on all established SEO techniques? What is it’s apparent effect on Search engine optimization? How is it going to affect the SERPs (results page)? A colossal change has just been made by big G. Google could not have gotten better at what it does. It revolutionized the search engine all over again.

To the makers of Google, it is nothing short of the fairy-tale crystal ball where they can see everything happening around in the universe. Everyone online is sort of an open book to Google whether you want it or not. And just when you thought that Google already knows too much about people; about what they thought, what they dreamed, what they pursued, what they shopped, what they searched, Google comes up with another milestone idea to get people even more personal; the ability to promote, remove search results by every individual on the planet and add unique comments to any of your preferred result. Wow, so what if you decide to promote a website from 50th page to 1st page. And let’s say you demote a top ranking result into oblivion, never to be seen on the 1st page again. So in one click did you just kill the hype and hoopla of search engine optimization?

Because the best of optimized pages could literally be gone out of your sight with this tool if you decided to have it so. And if it is really so, then this is the END OF THE WORLD. Is it the END of conventional SEO? Do i hear a pin-drop silence?

No need to panic yet. If you see the buttons then you must have noticed that they appear only when you are logged in to your Google account, and the reprise is that they only affect the results that you see, not what the world does. Do i hear a sigh of relief? If you want to skip my detailed analysis and description of this feature, you may straightaway read the conclusion at the bottom.

How does Google promote/remove actually work? A specific example.

To check the same, simply log in to your account, let’s say you do a Google search for the keyword phrase “webkinz dollar store”, and click on the promote button next to a result in a subsequent page. You will immediately see it magically go to the topmost SERP in the 1st page. If you click on ‘promote‘ for another “webkinz dollar store” search result, it will move into the second place on the 1st page itself. You can move the second web page to the first position by clicking “promote” on it again. Now Log out and search again for the same keyword, you will see your selected pages dropping back to its original ranking position. Login again and you will notice your chosen pages are back to your promoted order. If you click remove on any of your promoted website, it will return to its previous place in your Google search results. But If you click remove randomly on any un-promoted website, it will be permanently removed from any results. Of course you can get it back to the search results by clicking on restore at the bottom. The results are associated with your Google account only so they will be constant across any computes of you account logs.

At first instance it is bound to give the webmasters a cold feet with the thought that Google has handed over the fate of search engine results to people and everything about SEO goes to the dumps. It convincingly looks like, as if now people are to alter, improvise the worldwide top results for each search term. But it certainly isn’t the case. It’s only for your own Google account, for your own personalized result page order. And it is important to know that every new search term will have entirely different promoted and removed results than the other.

I’m sure even the biggest of SEO experts, guides and critics must have lost their nerve for a second with their first experience with Google promote and remove feature just as much as I did. So the big question still remains, is this the end of our struggle and success with SEO? Is it really all up to searchers and surfers to decide the ranks of our web pages? Are we supposed to watch helplessly all the big and popular web pages get to the top, while the smaller ones vanishing away? Thank the stars that it isn’t the case.

What is Google promote / remove system called?

It’s called SearchWiki. SearchWiki lets users have their own order of promoted and removed results, and leave comments on specific links. Google thus remembers changes that are made by the account holder to the organic search results pages, and subsequent searches will then be displayed as per the user’s customisations and notes. And most importantly, users will also have the option of seeing how other searchers have rated and reordered search results and view their notes as well, making search results a innovative community based initiative.

Who does searchwiki help?

In course of time, it will surely make a huge impact on how SEO affects a site in my opinion. Prior to this feature, a webmaster was the only individual who had an influence on the SEO aspects but now each and every Google user has the ability to decide where that site should be listed, making search engine results a different concept altogether. It may even revolutionize the idea or existing technology like browser bookmarks and RSS readership.

Customized search result page? Is it happening?

The way it stands now, it isn’t a possibility e.g., a specific page could be pushed to the top result for everyone just by getting shoppers or enthusiasts to ‘promote’ that site a million times. Neither can your competitors outrank your site by clicking on removal link a thousand times.

Yes, you can now customize your search results with the organic rankings, deletions, leave notes against each page for future reference and see how other Google users have tailored their searches. SearchWiki notes will be visible to other users, identified with your Google Account nickname.

What are the implications of Google searchwiki on SEO?

It is like an alarm bell for everyone to straighten up their act, specially thin affiliate sites, spammers or the ones resorting to black hat stuff. Yes sooner or later there will hardly be a scope for anyone to deviate even by an inch from the core of search engine fundamentals. That is relevance and accuracy.

Yes, many things will be affected from sales to delivery and reporting. SEO won’t be dead but it will have evolved and more oriented towards content than techniques .

Google has been remarkable in preventing spam and this new tool on the prima-facie would not only generate more direct data for Google analysis but would also also initiate a mass spam removal movement worldwide. As far as promoted and removed data is concerned, Google obviously is wary of SEO masters using proxy servers running multiple alias sites and redirect pages and unethical methods that can easily used to promote a single page. Hence they will never make a mistake of simply considering all the votes gained for a page to it’s ranking algorithm for organic searches without due verification. All of this will give Google a whole new perspective to search user habit and patterns by allowing the user to mix and alter the organic results itself. Unthinkable but true that it is already happening.

What if Google decides to apply the promotional and removal data to page ranks? Dooms day?

Top 10 ranking results will be flooded with the sites that the majority of people prefer. The hottest and most popular existing pages will fill up the top slots overnight, for every imaginable keyword search phrase. The scope for newer, smaller, unpopular websites will virtually perish with no place in the top noticeable positions. As a result it will hardly ever gain a promotion. And slowly it will stand as good as removed even if it is not.

It might be great to force people to look at the most popular websites, but the small ones which are less marketed or are comparatively of less value or quality will never stand a chance. Lesser traffic can never be the final diagnostic indicator.

But look at this from the perspective of a person who’s looking to find something out. If I need to learn about the “webkinz dollar store”, I don’t frankly care whether that comes from a small blog or a an unknown forum page, as long as I find the info I need, and its reliable. And I can always find them right where i need from anywhere in the world.

For those concerned about SEO.

The agony or the anxiety about it’s effect on SEO and rankings could be erased in a second just by reminding ourselves of the one and only governing factor about search engines, that their existence itself depends and will always be on it’s ability to offer accurate and relevant information to the users and not anybody else. Even searchwiki, this new Google tool is intended with no other intent but relevance. Isn’t it so common find relevant content even after page 10 at times? ( I don’t know about you, but I do search deep when I need information ). In such a case one would either bookmark that page or copy the content for future reference. I always sympathize with quality web pages nowhere near to the top ranking positions. That proves that just great content alone can not guarantee top ten results. A multitude of factors like SEO, backlinks, sandbox are responsible to drive a page to the top. And the process itself is slow.

Relevance will now be “of the search (Google), by the search (Google) and for the search (Google).” Sounds quite like a democratic definition of a search engine.

Not so long ago when webmasters saw the immense potential in harnessing people’s bookmarking habits, the craze of social bookmarking sites diggs, del.ico.us erupted overnight giving search relevance a completely relative meaning.

Things will now change. What better to bookmark a page from within the searches in just one click with no further accounts to log in to.

Backlinks and quality links are still the driving forces behind a websites rise or fall. It is equated as votes earned from other sites. As far as Google’s stand point is concerned, a natural promotion of a webpage from different un-suspicious IP addresses can count as votes of relevance for a search phrase.

Scientists are maybe still trying to unify the forces of nature into one formulae, but looks like Google almost successfully unified the world.

Welcome to Google monopoly. Look how it gets bigger by the day.

One Account: Where your world converges.

(Oh if you haven’t got a Google account yet. You will be compelled to have one sooner or later)

One Search Engine: The keyword manufacturing unit. Keyword demand supply chain. Unlimited Manpower at work for the biggest keyword market. From where internet business and ecommerce are governed.

One Search Tool (External keywords tool) : Manufactured keywords put on window display. Who does have a better authority to declare than Google itself, about what people are exactly searching for? Take it or leave it.

One Traffic Estimator: (Google lets you judge the cost of your keyword too) Window shopping for keywords.

One AdWords: Ok so interested parties can shop for keywords from the keyword store.

One AdSense: Auctioned keywords recycled back to the people (searcher) working in the keyword factory.

One Webmaster Tools: The manufacturers of keyword money are now the safekeepers of all your keyword rich belongings.

One Analytics: Realtime live tv telecasting keyword news to keep the buyers and sellers interested.

One Web history: Refined fuel for the keyword engine machinery. Everyone’s web habit and online track records are well kept with Google. They exactly know geo-specific, cultural specific keyword needs. Well who better to assign a price-tag to a keyword up for auction?

One Homepage (iGoogle): If all these have become second nature to you, then iGoogle is the way to stay hooked. You will get a handful on your finger tips.

And Now Google searchwiki: Google taking control of what you thought is best for you.

It is like, you have helped manufacture some great and moderate keywords so far, so why don’t you manufacture some great result pages with your click votes too. After all there are a free gazillion keyword workers (search engine users) in the factory (Google) at any given point in time. Keep working a bit extra and Google shall know what exactly the gazillion wants to see or not see. The fairytale crystal ball is for real now.

Where do you stand? Your best kept secrets are the best resources to the Google rulers. Google knows what buyers want, what sells most. Google knows what sellers want, what buyers are willing to pay, how much are they willing to pay for, where do best buyers come from and the sellers too. The world wide web is not so entangled for the big G anymore. They conquered the world faster than Alexander.

Everyone’s Top 10 Pages will look different for the same search phrase. Scary to even think about it.

Google has gotten perfect at eradicating it’s imperfections. And if you thought you had a reason to point a finger at them due to erroneous relevant results, they gave the baton to you to improvise. Google may use 20 million algorithms in a millisecond to offer what is relevant. But now they will have a gazillion more from an entire planet to vote for and review their own definition of relevant searches.

Conclusion.
What are the future projections and it’s impact on SEO practices?
1. Analysis of top ten projections and reporting is likely to change based on a world consensus.

2. The definitions for pagerank and rankings for single phrases and e-commerce variables could change. If a considerable number of people are not seeing a particular result in the first pages because they have it custom configured for a particular phrase with pre-selected results crowding the top, then definitely there would be lesser click-throughs as even the top sites will be pushed back further. Thus resulting in lesser visitor count for subsequent pages and affecting pagerank algorithms.

3. Marketers and SEO experts will have to look at a bigger picture than being obsessed with pagerank and rankings for single phrases.

4. Google AdWords will become more eminent as an assured method for topping the results with paid rankings, even if the user’s result page is highly customized. This means more revenues for Google.

5. When everyone starts to promote their favorite sites, the quality of content will definitely become even more undeniable (as it should be), and “classic” SEO techniques will need a complete re-orientation.

6. Marketers and SEO industry now thriving on Google, will be more proactive on Yahoo, Quil etc as alternative options.

7. Since this feature is only for Google user accounts. As of now the page rank and result pages outside logged Google accounts will very much be based on the organic SERPs. Especially given the fact that yahoo still owns more account user bases than Google. But eventually they will dominate even more with search engine market share, because of their unlimited customizable features.

8. As this Search Wiki tweak can be highly prone to spams, we won’t really see any sea change in the PR status radically soon until the rest of the planet not on Google account register and start using the feature.

9. Analytics will be even more laser focussed. Google will harness immense amount of personalized data and use them to improve relevance of results. You now will have to option to know your promotion vs removal ratio for every indexed page. You will soon know your popularity rank as much as your PR rank.

10. You will soon be presented with realtime reviews on your web pages moderated or not moderated by Google.

11. Websites with genuine content and relevance will now be a super must to even fair anywhere near.

12. SEO will spell “Authority pages” more than “Optimized pages”.

13. Survival of the fittest will be the new Google theory.

14. All onsite testimonials and reviews on products, services often clinically engineered or manipulated will matter less because you will have realtime online reviews even before you land on that page. (Google comment feature = Realtime reviews)

Millions of webmasters and people must still be biting their nails, trying to figure out what is wrong or right with our big Google. How is it likely to affect the already established businesses, websites and SEO? But I hope this article gives you enough insight about our fate or growth on Google in near future.

Another search engine revolution has begun with Google Promote, Remove and Comment Feature. Are you ready for the change?
personalized favors

SEO tips can help you to get higher Yahoo or Google listings, but only if you use them. Most people think that they know better, even so called SEO professionals who have to use PPC advertising to get their websites listed highly enough to be seen. Who are they to tell us what to do, when they cannot it themselves?

I have had some of them write to me criticizing my ‘crap’ HTML and also my ‘useless’ linking strategies. My site has ‘only a Page Rank of 3’. So what? It is sitting at between #1 on #5 on Google from day to day, at # 1 to #4 on Yahoo from day to day and at #1 on MSN. I will gladly accept their criticism of my HTML and linking when they achieve the same. Till then, perhaps they would be better buying my book that complaining about my websites!

I would feel more predisposed to them if they stopped criticizing me – I only started to do the same to them when I got sick of their comments when they could not emulate my results. Who am I, a rank amateur, to beat them in the SEO stakes!! In fact, I have been at this for many years.

So, SEO tip #1 – don’t believe anything you are told unless those telling you it have at least one of their websites in the top 5 on all the major search engines for a competitive keyword. Mine has >800 million other results on Google.

Tip 2 – use classical search engine optimization. Use Meta tags because some search engines still use them. The main one is the Description Meta tag – Keywords is not so important but use it anyway. It does not hurt you, so use them.

The third tip relates to the title of your website. There are two points that relate to this. The first is that it should be the best keyword that you can find that relates to your niche or website. That means a good demand and low supply, though too much is sometimes written about this since such keywords are not easy to find. If you can’t something with low supply, just use what you want and decide to compete against them. Somebody has to be top, and why can’t it be you? Too many people give up in SEO too quickly. Probably because we are told not to compete against the big boys – by these big boys!!

The second point is that the title of your site need not be stated on every web page. My web page titles are those of the page, not the site. The graphics are the same, but the title is the keyword that they page is optimized for. Why do otherwise? Yet 99.99% do (just a guess!). Then fourth of my SEO tips is related to the headings on each page. The main title of the page should be in H1 tags, and the heading in H2 tags. You don’t need any more, but any subheadings can go into H3 tags, but should contain text that could be construed as minor keywords.

I might be wrong, but who says? I have found that if you ignore the big guys, and compete against them, they can be beat. Check out what they are trying to sell you and you will notice that much of it is obsolete. Such as site generation and article generation software. That’s not an SEO tip, just a word to the wise, from the not so wise. I have no pretensions, but I know where my home page is on Google – and Yahoo – and MSN. Just search for ‘article services’.

The fifth SEO tip is to use your keywords sparingly. Most people still think that 1% – 3% keyword density is ideal, yet it is actually too much. There is an optimum keyword density that has little to do with the keyword itself, but more to do with contextual relevance of the page content to the topic in hand. Which leads to the sixth of the SEO tips: write naturally and honestly. If you know about your subject, write about it in your own language and don’t try to meet any perceived need for a specific number of so-called keywords within your page content.

Seventh, don’t forget about your links. You can get a higher search engine listing if you have lots of links back to your website from other sites. In fact, the links are from page to page, and you get a proportion of the Google PageRank of the page linking to you, relative to the number of other links leaving that page, and also give the page that you link to a proportion of your PageRank, calculated in the same way. The problem with reciprocal links is that most pages are linked to and from pages with a PageRank of zero, even though the website home page can have a PR of 6 or 7.

SEO tip eight. Use your internal linking to maximise the PageRank of a selected page on your website. You don’t need every page on your site listed in the top 10 of Google or Yahoo: you only need one. So maximise your efforts on that one page. Visitors that page will then visit the rest of the pages on your website, and so will search engine spiders, so you know that every page on your site will be listed and with a chance of being found in a search.

The important point of that tip is to concentrate on getting one page in the top 10. That’s all you need. You will have links to all your other pages once somebody reaches that page in the top 10. Tip nine: Once you get visitors keep them there. Give them useful content and something to do, even if just to click from page to page. Offer them a free gift for completing a quiz on your topic, or free vacation certificates for certain actions: these are easily found on the internet in a form that you can either post or email for them to print their own. Offer them an opt-in form so that you can keep in touch.

That is the most important tip of all – if you can keep in touch with your visitors after they have left your site, then you can offer them new products as they come along without having to seduce them to visit your website again.

Finally, the SEO tip number 10. Enjoy what you are doing, and don’t look upon it so much as a job as something to enjoy, and to do as best as you can. I wish you the best of success since it is very sweet when it comes – as it will come with you.
About the Author:

SEO is a wonderful idea for anyone with a website in need of additional traffic or if you have a web site that is generating absolutely zero traffic. The bad part about Search Engine Optimization is that it covers a vast variety of marketing techniques and strategies. The good part about SEO is that the Internet offers an immeasurable amount of no cost ideas that have been split tested an can get your online business organized for search engine indexing.

SEO Marketing companies do not have a magic wand or access to information that you are not worthy of. Online marketing firms offer specialist services from someone who makes it their job to look at an overall website; which includes but is not limited to:

> Domain name,

> site content,

> keywords,

> site link structure,

> site theme,

> current page rank

> valued offers

> opt-in email

> webpage organization

> user navigation

> pay per click campaigns

> Social media optimization

> Quality backlinks

> RSS feeds

> Sitemap

I suggest you read further but, if all or much of this is far too time consuming for you I suggest you hire someone to perform the tasks.

SEO marketing services come in all shapes and sizes. Some online optimization websites take the tutor approach by training members on the basics of organic internet marketing. Regular updates to your website content (updating your RSS feeds and Sitemaps) are important to organic growth.Organic (or natural) website growth does not include tricks and tactics that would get a website banned from most search engine indexes.

Organize your website: Search engine software can help users find information on your website by typing in a keyword (yes, just like Google, Yahoo and MSN). Question: what if a visitor to your News website performed a search on Cat Tail Dogs and the search returned Fish Mouth Birds? Not good huh? This is why the way your pages link to other relevant pages on your website is important.

Your domain name is a no brainer; if you have a site dedicated to Money Making Businesses you need a domain name that when spoken or written will show what your site is about. Stay consistant with your theme; a “Cat tail Dog” website should stick to that theme unless your site is an authority on the Cat and Dog species then you would cover a broader spectrum (which is fine but be aware that there is more competition in broader markets).

Social media optimization or social marketing is how some are making big numbers at the bank with their advertising websites. Not only do Sites like MySpace make millions in advertising income, some of the members of MySpace are also making millions by finding targeted traffic to market their products too while simultaneously creating backlinks and a social environment. I’m sure you realize that people who have similar hobbies and interests have a lot to talk about?

Offering something of value can not only attract visitors to your website, it can also start a buzz about your website in social networks. Valued offers have come a long way, you can still generate some traffic with ebooks but the big dogs of marketing are going to audio and video tutorials which has spoiled the online community and is slowly but surely causing everyone else to “step their game up”.

Optimization for quality backlinks can be simple once your website has professional page organization and tone, relevant content and link structure. Most firms will simply find a high ranking website in your Niche, put a like to their site on your home page, send them an email which states: I have placed a link to your website here “the link URL” would you do me the honor of doing the same on your website?”

That’s it; you don’t have to use a bunch of big words and fancy explanations; your site should speak for its self.

In your quest for high or better search engine ranking do not be driven to the “get high page rank quick” scams. Organic website growth has been tested and proven to outlast any of the spam devices on the market such as mini auto generated sites with information of no real use.

Fortunately, search engine algorithms have become smarter by looking for synonymic terms along with keyword phrases to determine the content to search relativity.

This simply means that low value sites will get pushed down in the SERPS and those of value using ethical SEO tactics will gradually rise to the top.

To survive in the online business community your goal must be to create sites that first gives its visitor something they can use which is not limited to “Information of Value!”. …and you have to keep giving it to them on a regular basis.

Your information may not be of value to everyone, hopefully you’ll have a forum for where they can voice their opinion. Visitor response can be used as an opportunity to find out what additional information or products your market needs.

Having a clean and well organized website doesn’t come easy for beginners; don’t lose sleep over it (website templates are reasonably priced). For do it yourself affordable search engine optimization, focus on your content, internal link structure, sticking to your sites overall theme, quality back links, content and value offers.
About the Author:

Have you ever really considered Search Engine Optimization (SEO) from the perspective of the consumer?

Usually I talk about SEO in terms of helping business owners get more business as their site shows up sooner in searches. While this is a noble and profitable goal I want you to place yourself in the shoes of a consumer.

In other articles I have talked about the entitlement mentality that is rampant among website users. They want information – and they want it right now.

That’s where your hard work with SEO strategies matches up with the consumers demand for immediacy. It is possible that a search engine user will need to back up and refine their search from time to time, but for the most part they’d like to find what they want to find on the first search. When you do an effective job and maximizing SEO within your site the consumer can access your information sooner.

The sooner they find you the sooner they can determine if they want to spend money with you. Isn’t that what you want?

Business is always geared toward the needs and expectations of consumers. Without that motivation the role of business would be stagnant with an unhappy buying public.

If your site caters to the needs of consumers within the site then you should pay close attention to the way they find you.

I’ve conducted thousands of online searches, just like you, and it can be frustrating when I really need to find something very specific and it becomes clear that the site I ultimately find it on hasn’t applied correct SEO to their site. If it weren’t for the fact that I really wanted a product I would have given up much sooner and determined I could live without whatever it is I thought I wanted.

In many ways your search ranking is a bit like a flexible yellow pages listing in a phone book. You have the power to improve the way search engines view and rank your site, but too many times business owners act as if this should be of little concern and their listing slips to the bottom of the list.

You may be able to improve visitation through buzz or viral marketing. However, since most business owners want to spend more time doing business than working on viral marketing then a firm foundation in SEO is a pretty important consideration.

Consumers don’t need or even want you to explain how and why you developed SEO strategies. Most of them won’t know what that is, nor will they really care. All they really know for sure is they wanted to find something specific online and they found it in your site.

If consumers really understood SEO they would be the first to tell you to make that a priority if you want their business. If you don’t use SEO to your advantage you are banking on the notion that your potential customers enjoy finding your business in the same way someone finds a proverbial needle in a haystack.

If you don’t want to pursue SEO for your own sake then at least think of your customer’s needs.
About the Author:

Search engine optimization companies often see e-commerce (shopping cart) web sites as an obstacle to their search engine optimization platform. Shopping carts are generally template based and most content is pulled from the database.

Its not the typical static HTML web site that is seen in the SEO training text book, but is it really possible to optimize a shopping cart? Well, maybe.

Not all shopping carts are created equal. Most shopping carts written in ASP, PHP, or related languages, can be optimized within the limitations set forth by the program. All of them allow for content pages to be added to the site and some even allow for shopping cart exporting to an HTML format.

There you have it, you have content, link population ability, and opportunity for adding fresh content. But, we are just beginning.

Some problem languages for shopping carts include .cfm (Cold Fusion) and .mvc (Miva Merchant). Both file types are not easily indexed by the search engines so this should be considered before starting your shopping cart project. With that said, some search engine optimization companies may be able to work out a plan to work around your existing shopping cart.

Aside from search engine optimization, another great means of marketing exist for shopping cart owners. Online product placement. Getting your site listed on places like Shopping.com, Bizrate, KCove.com, and Froogle is simple and affordable. Froogle is a free service but your product feed must be updated every month. Other price comparison sites have initial deposits of $50-$200. These sites work on a pay per click platform which have set price per clicks for various categories.

Using price comparison web sites should not be done instead of search engine optimization but rather complimentary to your search engine optimization efforts. For more information, talk to your search engine optimization company.
search at google

The debate between natural or organic search engine optimization versus pay per click has been raging for a while among the search engine marketing world as to which is better and a more productive use of a company’s limited online marketing budget. Build a better website and focus on organic search engine marketing or dump your dollars into PPC campaigns. Well, if you haven’t already figured out what I think…you will very shortly.

The numbers:

60% of all search clicks are in the organic or natural areas of a SERP.

40% are in the sponsored or paid areas.

These numbers are up for debate because they are closely guarded secrets in the industry, but as a general rule, a 60/40 split is accepted.

Google has a 60% market share of all searches and a 30% market share of LOCAL search.

If I am doing PPC on Google, the absolute best I could hope for is 60% (Google Market Share) of 40% (PPC Clicks) or 24% of all searches might click on my ad versus a potential 60% of all searches for Organic. Big gap!

The gap is even greater if we focus on only local search. With local search, Google only has a 30% market share, so 30% of 40% equals 12% of all potential local searches might result in a hit on your ad versus the same 60% for organic ads.

60% versus 12% for local search is a huge gap. If you are investing your dollars trying to gain new customers within a local market, PPC on Google just wont give you access to a large enough audience to be successful. Further, because there are limited available clicks, the cost per click in an auction system is forced upwards. Supply and demand create higher costs per click, decreased return on investment and drastically limit the available marketplace.

Organic optimization offers 5 times the potential customer pool and has no per click costs. The difficulty is that organic takes time to build and can not be guaranteed. My experience with most businesses doing PPC is that the supposed guarantee of PPC is really only a guarantee of going broke by over paying for leads…and that doesn’t surprise me with the simple supply and demand principles at work.

Even if you decide that you need to do pay per click on all three major search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN to cover all your bases, you still miss out on 60% of all clicks because they simply aren’t where your ads are. Organic search marketing, proper website design and keyword optimization and management are not optional if you want to have a successful online marketing campaign, they are absolutely necessary. If you can’t afford both, I suggest focusing on the bigger number of 60% and skip the PPC.

I recommend a simple solution to my clients, invest in long term return and growth through proper web development, monitoring and optimization and use PPC as a short term option for getting started. Much like using direct mail to launch a venture and focusing on long term marketing plans like word of mouth and customer loyalty programs for ongoing success.
About the Author:

Majority of information conceded all over the internet on AdSense takings is covered in half truths and doesn’t replicate the basics of search engine optimization strategy.

On and Off page optimization strategy are two very related and which can’t do without the other major growth parameters in any website. Structure of the Heading Tags on your website, The main words, The explanation Tag, The Robot Text file, The Keyword density, The keyword Positioning, The Alt Image Text The h1, h2, h3 Tags and The positioning of the Navigational Links all are involved in the On page. While the Off Page is only reliant on; the number of Reciprocal links on your website, Non Reciprocal Links to your website.

Those who view search engines as partners have a very different optimization strategy. These service providers embrace the idea that the attributes and optimization methods that give a website high rankings in search engines are, by and large, the same ones that make the site more valuable to website visitors.

This theory makes sense. Every search needs to return results that their users find to be the most relevant and useful. If search engine R&D people operated in a vacuum, they would probably find their market share rapidly diminished while they lamented about how “people are stupid”.

This means that each of the major engines spend endless research dollars to determine exactly what it is that search engine users find valuable, and each has a high stake in the results of the research. No search engine has the resources or motivation to conduct studies of this magnitude. It is, therefore, highly advantageous to use the findings of these studies, deduced from common traits of multiple search engines, to improve your search engine optimization strategy and website.
About the Author:
